Should I Send Confidential Client Information to DGS? 

An attorney-client relationship will not be created between you and DGS until you have been personally contacted by a DGS attorney and the terms of such a relationship are agreed upon in writing.  If you are not currently a client of DGS, please do not send confidential client information to DGS.  Any information provided by persons who are not currently clients of the firm will not be considered to be confidential, privileged, or otherwise protected by an attorney-client relationship, and may be divulged by us.  Our dealings with current clients of DGS, and our treatment of any information received from such clients (including information received and displayed in our secure client workspaces), will be governed by applicable law, the Rules of Professional Conduct promulgated by the State of Colorado, and the rules of other jurisdictions to which our attorneys may be admitted. 

What Personal Information Does DGS Collect?

When you visit the public area of our website, you remain anonymous. However, to the extent you use e-mail links via the website to communicate with DGS or anyone affiliated with DGS and provide us with personally identifiable information, you will not remain anonymous. Because it is not possible to anticipate every conceivable context in which such information might be provided to us via e-mail, DGS can provide you no assurance that personally identifiable information you choose to provide to us via e-mail will be maintained as private.

DGS does not currently use “cookies” on this website, although it may decide to use them in the future. Cookies are small text files that are placed on a visitor's computer hard drive that allow a website's host to record how many times a user or computers within a user's network of computers has visited the Web site, the number of times various pages of the Web site have been accessed and to track the user's home page customization preferences. DGS also does not collect your Internet Protocol (IP) address, although it may decide to do so in the future. An IP address is a number that is assigned to your computer when you use the Internet.

What Steps Does DGS Take to Protect Your Privacy?

DGS does not presently collect personally identifiable information via the public area of its Web site except to the extent that such information is provided from visitors who voluntarily send electronic mail to DGS or any of its lawyers, register for events, subscribe to newsletters or submit resumes through the site. Personal information collected through this website is saved in our contact database where it may be combined with pre-existing contact information in the database. DGS takes reasonable security precautions to maintain the privacy of the data that is collected, such as ensuring that it is accessible only to appropriate personnel and that the information is user ID- and password-protected. To the extent permitted by law, DGS will not sell, share, or otherwise disclose any contact information it maintains in its database.  Exceptions are disclosures to parties who assist or cooperate in preparing firm mailings and to third parties with whom DGS may co-sponsor an event (in which case DGS may share attendee lists for purposes of the event).
