Discharge Permits

We represented several oil and gas operators in disputes over obtaining and complying with NPDES water quality discharge permits from the State of Wyoming relating to produced water from coalbed methane operations.  We also are representing the Petroleum Association of Wyoming in an environmental group’s ongoing challenge of the Clean Water Act Regional General 404 Permit that authorizes discharges of fill material into wetlands and regulated waters in Wyoming oil and gas operations.  Recent efforts to preliminarily enjoin that crucial Regional 404 Permit were successfully defeated.
